Volume of disposals by vendor type & sales
The significant swing away from direct Receivership sales continues, with volumes easing to 7% of the total lots offered (2014 – 11%, 2013 – 23%). Private property companies consolidated their predominant position as mainstays of the market being responsible for 60% of all sales (2014 – 47%) by volume.
While the precise figures are difficult to establish with any certainty, our view is that the volume of consensual sales is still firm. A number of lenders have identified the opportunity to “clear the decks” of assets formerly held on a “wait and see” basis. Improved market conditions have undoubtedly helped this sentiment.
